Getting Together

In the months following our first date, we continued to stay in touch and met up often. However, things fizzled out a bit until Jeffrey realized, after a slightly longer period of no contact, that we belonged together 😉 and so we officially became a couple in July 2017.

Hello, my name is Céline. Since Carole was born, I have been by her side.

I am her big sister - even if she is actually a bit taller than me. Of course, I am her favorite sister - because I am the only one ;).

We are inseparable and one heart and soul. We have often been asked if we are twins because we are so alike at the core and yet also very different. Although Carole is two years younger, she already emulated me early in everything and wanted to be able to do everything. This could be really annoying sometimes, but I always sent her ahead when I was a big scaredy-cat again and there was something to ask for.

In our lives, we have spent a lot of time together, be it in gymnastics, in athletics, on our world trip, or generally in our spare time. We are supportive of each other, rejoice together in our successes, and lift each other up when we have failures. Carole is always there when you need her, and no effort is too big for her to help others. I can always rely on her, and she has never let me down.

It is with great pleasure that I take on the honor of supporting her as her maid of honor and making her dream wedding possible.

My name is Jimmy, and I have the honor of being Jeffrey's best man. How did I come to have this honor...?

Well, it's because I am Jeffrey's little brother, and we have always been there for each other since I was born.

To say I love my brother would be an understatement. I would give anything for him. He's not just my brother; he's my best friend, always there when I need him, and the best punching bag ever.

I am eagerly looking forward to standing by his side when he finally ties the knot.

Bride’s Best Friend & Bridesmaid

A year and a half ago, Carole answered Jeffrey's proposal with a lightning-fast "yes".

My answer came almost as quickly when Carole asked me to be her bridesmaid – the next big step in our friendship.

My name is Melanie, and I am 30 years old. I have known Carole for half my life. We first met at vocational school, and my first impression of our class was not great. However, in the middle of the lesson, there was a knock at the door, and Carole was standing there. She had accidentally been sitting in another class for the first few hours. I immediately felt a connection with her and vacated the seat at the desk next to me, waving her over. We quickly struck up a conversation, and when I think back on it today, I am still convinced that it was fate. Anyone who knows me understands that I am not usually outgoing or comfortable with approaching strangers. But with Carole, it felt like we had known each other forever.

And so, we have been together through thick and thin since we were 15 years old. We finished our apprenticeship together, helped each other through our first heartbreaks, explored new cities and countries, partied wildly through long club nights and several festivals, and at some point, realized that a cozy evening with delicious food, a bottle or two of Moscato, and the right company was even more beneficial. We got older.

We accomplished what only really good friendships do. We stayed true to each other into adulthood, and even when Jeffrey came into her life, our friendship did not get dusty. On the contrary, Jeffrey became a much-valued friend that no one would want to be without.

I am very happy to be able to accompany Carole and Jeffrey on their journey together and cannot wait until we all toast to "forever" with them.

Groom's Best Friend & Groomsman

The friendship between Jeffrey and me began in our early school days.

Moreover, we lived only a few hundred meters apart - which quickly led to a close friendship that has lasted until today. Another common trait that Jeffrey and I share is our never-ending curiosity to discover new horizons. Together we have been to many different places on earth, with amazing memories that formed our friendship and make it extremely valuable.

It is my deepest honor as a true friend to be at Jeffrey's side as he embarks a new chapter in his life, and I truly wish Carole and him the very best in their journey ahead. For our friendship, I look forward to countless more adventures that we can share together.

My name is Sarah, I'm 27 years old and that's exactly how long I've known Carole - she's my cousin on my maternal side.

She and her sister Céline form together with me the little "snail family" (insider). Together we have made many great, fun and unforgettable memories. Every year on our birthdays we met for an extensive party with friends - which were always great and ended with a singing and dancing walk home!

With Jeffrey, the family has grown by another great, funny and loving person. We are very happy to be able to accompany Carole and Jeffrey on their next step into their future.

Groom's Friend & Groomsman

I've known Jeff for about 6 years. We met through my little brother Yves,

who was already friends with Jimmy and had invited all the boys to a Marvel movie night. Jeff and I were on the same wavelength from the beginning and also often had the same stupid or in our eyes very intelligent ideas.

Jeff then started playing American Football with the Winterthur Warriors in 2018 also because of my persuasion. Since a boozy party night including salsa dancing, after our first season home game on March 31, 2018, I also can't imagine my life without Carole either. After that evening, the two then also had the great idea I could sleep at Jeff's house on the couch. And so the rest of the family Wissekerke got to know me from my best side on Sunday morning in boxers, snoring on their sofa. The brunch this morning is unforgotten to this day and I am eagerly waiting for another invitation 😉

Jeff and also Carole are among my best friends after all these years and I couldn't imagine my life without them. How Carole endures the combination of Jeff and myself is still partly a mystery to me but deserves the highest respect. Without the reasonableness of Carole the one or other stupid idea more would have been surely converted into the act. Without Carole, I would probably also still be lying on the side of the road in Zurich, because she was the one who drove for me to Zurich at 4 in the morning after a Christmas event of Jeff and dragged me together with Jeff to my bed in Winterthur.

Despite some of the events that I've mentioned, our friendship isn't just about drinking and partying. We (except maybe Jeff) have definitely become a bit calmer over the years. We've had many more great, funny, and unforgettable moments that make our friendship truly unique to this day. When Jeff asked me to be his groomsman, I was again quite emotional, but this time no alcohol was involved.
I am so happy and grateful to experience another chapter of our friendship with the wedding of these two wonderful humans.
